On the 16th of November we opened our doors to neighbours and businesses in Liverpool. The occasion? A festive relaunch of our refreshed conferencing facilities and a celebration of award winning eatery Artisane joining the 54 family. If you’re looking for an event space in Liverpool, we have an option for you.

We also took the opportunity meet our neighbours, welcome back past clients and spread the Christmas cheer. Are we the first business in the Baltic Triangle to put the Christmas tree up? Probably!

Guests began to arrive from 4.30pm onwards to a backdrop of Christmas lights, complimentary drinks, and live music by the incredible Harpist Lauren Scott – a true highlight of the evening. If you couldn’t make it, here’s what you missed.

Conference menu taster

As we might have mentioned once or twice, award winning bakery, patisserie and sandwicherie Artisane have taken up residence in our ground floor café space.

The establishment, ran by Anne-Louise and Walter Bouffard-Roupe, has been a fast favourite in Liverpool since 2016, and once had a spot on Bold Street.

The arrival of Artisane has transformed our catering options with a unique conferencing menu that guests were able to sample throughout the event. Highlights of the menu ‘included ‘the best posh sausage rolls in town’ and Artisane’s ‘delicious’ blondies.

Facilities tour

During the evening, guests were given guided tours of our versatile spaces that can accommodate conferences, workshops, and meetings, plus a peek at our rooftop veranda with views of Liverpool’s two cathedrals.

This year, we’ve incorporated new eco materials into our spaces, adding additional furnishings and refreshed the greenery. Each meeting room in 54 has a window allowing plenty of natural light, so we have the luxury of lots of plant life.

We’ve maintained features such as integrated HD TV screens, audio-visual conferencing facilities, integrated data projectors and video conferencing facilities.

54 also has free Blue-Badge parking (other parking for a small charge is available nearby) baby changing amenities, and complimentary wireless Wi-Fi.

At the end of the tour guests received a goodie bag which included treats by Artisane, stationary and a 15% discount code for Jan/Feb room bookings.

Social Value

We also took the opportunity to share the social value at the heart of 54 St. James Street.

Have you noticed how each hireable room at 54 is named after an influential and inspirational woman? Our building was built as part of the ‘WICED’ project to create a Women’s International Centre for Economic Development. Each booking goes towards helping vulnerable women & disadvantaged communities through the work of The Women’s Organisation. If you know someone looking for an event space, please help us spread the word.

Networking

As the evening progressed it was wonderful to hear the ground floor buzz with people making connections, something that we appreciate all the more since the pandemic.

Businesses in attendance included Kenyon’s marketing agency, Social Flow Collective, University of Liverpool,  ADHD Foundation, and many more.

Thank you to everyone who attended our open-evening. We look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.
